Sports Teams in Wisconsin
From the Packers to the Golden Eagles
Wisconsin is known as America’s Dairyland, and for good reason – the state leads the United States in cheese production, and is second only to California in milk production. It’s easy to see why so many Wisconsans refer to themselves as Cheeseheads. These Cheeseheads regularly fill Lambeau Field during the NFL season to watch the Green Bay Packers, and are just a portion of Wisconsin sporting fanatics.
Wisconsin features a variety of exciting sports action, ranging from professional to college. In northern Wisconsin you’ll visit Green Bay, home to the Super Bowl champion Packers. Milwaukee has the NBA’s Bucks, and MLB’s Brewers. Madison is home to the University of Wisconsin, and Marquette University is found in Milwaukee.
Make plans to visit the legendary Lambeau Field during football season, or head to Madison and check out Camp Randall Stadium, home of the Wisconsin Badgers. When in Milwaukee, options are vast – be sure to visit the Bradley Center for the slams and steals of Milwaukee Bucks basketball – it’s also the home to the Marquette Golden Eagles basketball teams, men’s and women’s.
Baseball fans visiting the Milwaukee area are in for a treat at Miller Park, home to the Brewers. Watch as the Brew Crew slugs their way back to the playoffs in a race for the pennant.
