Black River State Forest
Comprised of more than 67,000 acres near Black River Falls, Black River State Forest is a scenic recreation area in Southern Wisconsin. This beautiful park was established in 1957 near the glaciated plains of Wisconsin, featuring wonderful views from atop Castle Mound.
The park houses a collection of excellent hiking and biking trails, including easy trails like the South Trail and difficult trails like the Wild Cat Trail. Visitors are invited to explore the Black River and its many connecting bodies of water, like Morrison Creek and the East Fork Black River for a unique experience.
